No challengers yet for incumbent Peralta trustees

Candidates have four days left to secure spot on ballot

Trustees and prospective challengers have four days left to secure a spot on the November ballot.

Update 8/15/24: Senead Geneva Anderson is set to run against Paulina Gonzalez Brito for Area 2 Trustee, according to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters’ website. A full article is in the works.

Four Peralta Community College District (PCCD) trustees could run uncontested this November, according to records from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.

No challengers have stepped up to compete for a spot on the Board of Trustees, records reviewed by The Citizen show.

Three out of the four incumbents up for re-election have yet to declare their candidacy with the Registrar of Voters.

Bill Withrow, the Area 1 Trustee representing Alameda, filed a declaration of candidacy form on July 25.

Area 2 Trustee Paulina Gonzalez-Brito, Area 4 Trustee Nicky González Yuen, and Area 6 Trustee Dyana Delfín Polk have not completed filing a declaration of candidacy.

The Registrar of Voters did not allow The Citizen to take photos of the documents.

The deadline for candidates to officially declare candidacy is Aug. 9 at 5:00 p.m.
