In a unanimous decision, the Peralta Community College District (PCCD) Board of Trustees elected Louis Quindlen as Board President at a special meeting Friday.
Quindlen, who previously served as Board Vice President for two years, said he’s “honored and excited” to lead the board.
“Our financial situation is my top priority,” Quindlen said. “Trying to secure more funding. I also think that the current funding system, using a student centered funding formula, creates real issues for us.”
Paulina Gonzalez-Brito, the previous Board President, was elected Board Vice President.
Trustees Cindi Napoli-Abella Reiss and Sheweet Yohannes were absent from the meeting, while Trustee Nicky González Yuen joined via zoom.
Both Quindlen and Gonzalez-Brito were nominated by Trustee González-Yuen. No other nominations for either position were set forth, and both were approved unanimously by the trustees present.
