As a lifelong learner, Reid Haataja has found a home at Laney College. After graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Oregon in 2008, he moved to California’s Central Valley in 2012 with his wife and rekindled his passion in photography. Laney’s journalism courses meshed well with his photography and the passion of Eleni Economides Gastis and his fellow students reminded him of the importance of local journalism and the joy of writing. He hopes to help expand his storytelling ability by using both photography and writing to help his audience understand the world around us a little better.
