Meet Peralta’s new security teams

Over the summer, the board of trustees approved multi-year contracts for two new security companies to operate across the district.

The Peralta Board of Trustees approved a $5.45 million contract between the district and the new security vendors, Diligence Security Group and Aventus Security on June 10. Marina Security Services’ contract with the district ended on June 30.

The original “free class” to obtain a “security guard card” was promoted through a Sept. 22 CoA student services newsletter. An attached flyer for the event claimed attendees would receive a “certificate to become a security guard” after a one-hour training. The event was arranged by CoA counselor and Project Hope coordinator Robin “Bernard” Ward.
