Sam O'Neil, Associate Editor

Full of ambition, this is Sam’s second semester at Laney and as Associate Editor of The Citizen. Stumbling into the journalism class in Fall 2023 thinking it was a basic news writing class, he was immediately hit with the reality that he was now a staff writer for the publication. Despite this, though, he quickly fell in love with the craft, and became obsessed with anything related to Peralta and its community. He currently holds the proud badge of attending every single PCCD Board of Trustees meeting since he started here.

In his off-time, Sam loves to study languages and watch assorted historical documentaries. He hopes that one day this studying will equip him with enough knowledge to travel the world and understand and immerse himself in all the cultures he can. However, in the meantime, being a mediocre trivia partner will do.

If you wish to contact Sam for any Peralta-related matter (or if you just want to say hello), feel free to reach out via email at [email protected].
