Ivan Saravia, Staff Writer

Ivan Saravia was born in Berkeley and lived his whole life in San Leandro. He is a freshman at Peralta, with strong ambitions of becoming a writer. Ever since he was in elementary school, he’s had a deep fascination and desire to understand all the little nuances in language and communication. In his free time nowadays he loves writing and deciphering music, especially artists like Fiona Apple, Bob Dylan, and Lou Reed. As the child of an extremely prideful Oakland Native, it was a given at some point in his life he would end up attending an Oakland School. He’s always had a great love and appreciation for what he considers his “second home,” and would be deeply proud to serve the community of Oakland. He is beyond excited to be a part of this publication and learn as much as he can from his peers and this given opportunity.
