Letters to the Editor — Women make a difference

What caught my attention in the Tower was the story about Women’s History Month in March (“Changing animation from the inside out: Pixar artist visits BCC”/March 3).
This story is something of prime importance in that this is a time to remember the history of extraordinary women. I think it’s excellent to highlight the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.
I feel like we shouldn’t just set aside a month in the calendar to finally give hard-working women credit for their accomplishments in this world. While they may not all make headlines, or perform grand gestures, their stories are often ones we may find most interesting… because we can relate with them.

    Letters to the Editor
The Tower accepts letters to the editor. Letters should be 150 words or fewer. Email letters to laneytower(at)peralta.edu with the subject line “letter.” We sometimes edit for space and clarity.

    About the Contributor
In the fall of 2019, The Laney Tower rebranded as The Citizen and launched a new website. These stories were ported over from the old Laney Tower website, but byline metadata was lost in the port. However, many of these stories credit the authors in the text of the story. Some articles may also suffer from formatting issues. Future archival efforts may fix these issues.
