The counselor distributed a flyer to students which advertises an off-campus training through a company that solicits a $50 fee and social security numbers from attendees.
“Our Transformation Plan asks us to unify as a district while honoring the strengths of each college,” Gilkerson wrote. “It asks us to design systems that are student-ready, not ones that wait for students to become institution-ready.”
Peralta’s email affirmed “the right of all to receive a college education, including individuals lacking immigration credentials” at its colleges.
The BCC Student Arts Guild will host a reception for its multimedia art exhibition on Nov. 25.
