The Peralta Community Colleges Board of Trustees voted to ratify Rudy Besikof for the Laney College president position and Nathaniel Jones III for the College of Alameda president position during closed session at yesterday’s regular meeting.

Both votes passed with six “ayes” and one abstention from Trustee Linda Handy.

Besikof has been serving as Laney College interim president since July, and his one-year contract is effective starting today, at a salary of $207,517 annually.

Jones, who was also approved for a one-year contract, will start on December 4, 2020, at a salary of $219,046 annually. Both Besikof and Jones’ contracts will end on December 31, 2021.
